I first started grant-writing as a university student in New Orleans managing a grant to bring Health Promoters from Guatemala to New Orleans to study. Planning and implementing that first project got me hooked.
I managed three health projects while I was a student and then graduated to my first "real" job managing health grants for a state health department and giving out money to non-profits.
It was at that time that I learned how to support non-profits who were writing to us for grants and weren't sure how to grow their organizations to meet the demands of fundors (us!).
Thirty years later I have continued to teach grant writing and project planning and am managing my own projects and growing programs. I still have that passion for the amazing work that is carried out by the non-profit sector (I continue to volunteer for non-profits, which is truly fulfilling too).
I have been on the grant-giving side of two state health departments in the USA and have also administered/managed multi-million-dollar grants. I have also taught program planning and grant writing for ten years at the university level and 20 years at the community level.
You have a vision for what you want to achieve with your non-profit - let me help you make that a reality.
We can build on your mission and vision and the strengths of what you have achieved so far, with a focus on board development and strategic planning and then putting that plan into action, which of course includes funding, amongst many other things.
